On May 20th, UCI is holding its 3rd Annual Energy Invitational! The objective of the contest is to compete to obtain the furthest distance travelled using $1.00 of the energy of your choice. All ASME members are welcome to volunteer and help judge at this event.

ASME, Orange County Section, is hosting another company tour this month! INTERFACE CATHETER SOLUTIONS is the market leader for designing and manufacturing medical balloons for a multitude of clinical applications. INTERFACE also manufactures balloon forming and catheter manufacturing equipment. In this tour, you will learn the company's genesis in 1995, a real piece of the American Dream, and company core design and manufacturing capabilities. You will also get a close-up look at various machines used to manufacture high-quality medical balloons. The machines include custom medical extrusion, balloon forming, welding, marker band application, and a new automated balloon inspection system that provides visual inspection and dimension measurement in a single operation. Orange County Section is one of 400 sections that make up the premier organization for promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical engineering throughout the world – the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, also known as ASME. The 125,000-member ASME, founded in 1880, is a worldwide engineering society focused on technical, educational and research issues. ASME Orange County Section is organized to serve local industries, universities, and mechanical engineers in the Orange County geographical area.
